Sending someone a link to download from FTP site... If you posted your file to ftp://ftp.richterconsulting.net/private/up then you must do 2 things. 1) embed the username and password in the link 2) add the file name to be downloaded Embedding the Username & Password: ftp://<username>.<password>@ftp.richterconsulting.net/private/up (don't include the < > and replace username with the username.) Adding File Name: after the entire URL (aka link) you must type the file name... If you uploaded a file called FILE1.ZIP, it would look like this... ftp://<username>.<password>@ftp.richterconsulting.net/private/up/FILE1.ZIP I recommend that you rename the file to something WITHOUT Spaces, BEFORE you upload it. Using Spaces makes things MUCH more difficult, and you might as well just assume it won't work with spaces. Now, simply email the entire URL (above) with username and password embedded as well as the FILE name - to the intended recipient. |
